The Best Robot Vacuum and Mop Combo

The Q Revo is a good option for those looking for an affordable robot vacuum and mop. It's a great mopping capabilities, but is lacking some of the advanced features of its more expensive sibling.

In the course of testing, it was able to handle dry oats and dust on carpets with medium piles and pet hair on hard floors. But, unlike cheaper models, it doesn't use LIDAR to determine the layout of your home.

Roomba s9+ from iRobot

The iRobot Roomba S9+ robot vacuum is one of the best-rated robots. It comes with a variety of features and impressive cleaning power, including an area for dirt that is built into the charging base. The robot also learns your cleaning habits and suggest automatic schedules for a truly hands-free experience.

Setup is easy, thanks to the iRobot Home app that walks you through the process. Once the system is set up you can begin the cleaning automatically with just one button click. You can opt for a general clean that prioritizes cleaning up larger debris like rice and cereal or two thorough mappings of your space to ensure your entire home has a clean and tidy appearance.

This robot vacuum is effective on both bare floors and carpets with low pile. It sucks up large items and does not lose suction as fast as other models do, and it can even remove pet hair without difficulty. It's a challenge with carpets that are high-pile or plush however iRobot claims that future models will be more efficient.

The S9+ features a new design from iRobot that is focused on enhancing corner and edge cleaning. It's the first Roomba to adopt an open-fronted, flat-fronted design, which it hopes will allow it to fit into furniture and walls. It's a nice improvement over the standard hockey puck shape of the majority of robovacs. However, we found it to be only incrementally better than circular models.

iRobot also claims the S9+ comes with an advanced filtering system that stops microscopic dust particles and allergens from recirculating within your home. We think it's a nice claim but not enough to justify a higher price.

Its smart navigation system employs sensors that keep track of your home's layout, and vSLAM technology to map your interior. It then cleans your entire home with ease by avoiding obstacles such as stairs and other barriers. The iRobot Home app lets you manage the robot and plan cleaning times, as well as create virtual boundary markers, so that it can recognize areas that require extra attention.

2. Roborock Q Revo

Roborock Q Revo is a robot that is a combination of mopping and vacuuming. Its vac settings are as efficient as those found on more expensive models, and smart vacuum its mopping robot vacuum cleaner system is even better. Its spinning pads do a much better job of scrubbing floors than a stationary vibration pad.

The only downside is that it does not have an additional rubber brush to provide more thorough cleaning, but that's a small price to pay if you want one of the best robots available. The dust tank on the robovac is bigger than most of its competitors. Filling it up only takes two or three times, even when you've got a lot of dirt.

For the mopping system, I was awestruck by its ability to scrub hard dirt off my floors. Its two lowest mopping settings which are less powerful than high-powered settings, produce minimal noise, meaning you can work or even watch television without being distracted. It will gently hit furniture or walls and then move on if it comes across one.

The Q Revo is unique in that it runs almost autonomously, with little user involvement. The robo-vac features a multi-function dock that can automatically transfer physical trash into the hidden bin and also washes and dry the mop pads and refills its clean water tank. The app is adept at nagging you only when something needs attention, like the clean water tank running low or a scheduled cleaning session that was cancelled because of a full dust bin.

You can also design and merge rooms to modify how the Q Revo manages your home. This feature is beneficial if you have different flooring in different areas of your house or in the event that you have to regularly get rid of clutter like toys, clothes and books. The robo-vac is also very efficient and was among the top performers in my tests, picking up debris from both carpets and hardwoods on the first pass. It can even remove wet spills however I would recommend wiping them dry with a damp cloth prior to sending the robot in.

3. Ecovacs Deebot X2 Omni

The X2 Omni is a premium robot mop and vacuum with all the features you could want. It has the ability to rotate mops and a powerful vacuum that can clean carpets as well as hard floors. It's akin to the iRobot Roomba S9+. It also has self-cleaning bases that automatically empties and washes the mop pads, ensuring that they remain them free of germs and ready to use again. It also comes with a sensor that recognizes obstacles better, allowing it to avoid falling on furniture and other objects.

The biggest difference over the ECOVACS Deebot X1 is that this model is sleeker and more modern design, thanks to Danish firm Jacob Jensen Design (best known for its Bang & Olufsen products). This version is more efficient than the X1 because it charges more quickly and can clean 1,500 square feet in a single charge. And it has a larger dustbin that is more durable and can hold more debris which makes it easier to empty when needed.

The X2 Omni is the top mopping robot. Its mop pads that rotate clean tough stains and its motor creates lots of downward pressure. Its vacuuming performance is outstanding as well and it increases suction when it detects carpet to ensure it does an excellent job. It has a large rechargeable battery that lasts up to one week. The mopping feature of the robot is also powerful.

4. Dreametech L10s Ultra

The Dreametech L10s Ultra robot mop and vacuum is a high-end model that has a range of features that aren't typically found on robots of this price. It can build precise floor maps, recognize various flooring types and is among the few robots that automatically wash and dry the mop pads. These features are nice but they also place the L10s in the luxury category. This could mean it's more expensive than what homeowners want.

The L10s Ultra looks like a modern floor cleaner. It is slim and tall and has a white-colored finish that is complemented by silver elements and mirror plating. The front of the machine features an impressive bumper that protects the furniture and vacuum cleaner while moving around your home. Behind the pane at the front is a second navigation technology that is comprised of sensors that aid the L10s Ultra navigate around tight corners and avoid obstacles.

On the top of the vacuum, there is a single button which acts as an on/off switch. The button will activate the vacuum. If you click it again, it will shut it off and send it to its base station. The circular menu located in the center of the control panel lets users to select cleaning options as well as schedules and preferences. The left and right buttons will open the app's settings which allow you to customize how the L10s Ultra interacts with your home.

The L10s Ultra, like the iRobot Roomba S9+ or Roborock Q Revo uses a combination of cameras and LIDAR technology to map out your home. However, it wasn't as efficient in dealing with sand on the floor or the quaker oats that are on carpet.
